Save the date! The 2nd of april at 18:00 we will hold our general assembly. The General Assembly (GA) will take place at The Hague University of Applied Sciences / Haagse Hogeschool. The GA will be in room OV 207.We hope to see many of you there! Read the rest of this article to find out what a general assembly is, what we will discuss, and why you should come.
What is this general assembly thing?
A general assembly is a meeting in which all members of an association can raise their voice on their associations policy. This can be done through speaking up about an issue at any point during the meeting but also by voting on issues or proposals related to the association. The general assembly is also a way for the association’s members to control if their board is doing a good job, through this controlling function the assembly is part of the association’s legal framework. Every amateur football association and every student association in The Netherlands has a general assembly, HVV Football Factory thus has one too! For some associations these assemblies are a big part of their culture and they can take up to 10 hours. Our assembly is not expected to take more than two hours, but nonetheless, it s an important moment for the club.
What will we discuss during the generalm assembly?
Some topics need to be discussed in every assembly, most notably, the club’s treasurer will present the budget and bookkeeping of the last year. Furthermore, we will run our members through the developments of the last year, what is new at the club, what decisions have been made, what t went well and what went wrong.
There are two important topics which we will propose to the members. Firstly, we will have a discussion about social safety and propose our new code of conduct to you. Secondly, the board proposes to conclude the contribution fees for the 2024/25 season on €230 for a full year membership and €150 for a half year membership. Lastly, as we are still looking for a board for the 2024/25 season, all board members will elaborate on how they filled in their position last year,
Why come to the assembly?
Most importantly, you are the association! An amateur football association and a student association’s succes is based upon the active participation of it’s members. This is your opportunity to raise your voice and to contribute to our association. Furthermore, there will be a lottery at the GA, you can win an HVV Football Factory football bag and a brand new 2024 HVV Football Factory match shirt (Picture below). All you need to do: be at the GA. Of course we will use the opportunity to have some drinks or food together after the GA, which will be great fun as well.
